According to the Communications and International Affairs Department of Bandar Abbas Municipality, Mehdi Nobani said:

“Unfortunately, we witnessed a tragic incident at Shahid Rajaei Port that caused significant damage. In these difficult times, it is our duty to support casualties, employing all our capabilities to assist them.” 

He further pointed to the utilization of all equipment and resources of Bandar Abbas Municipality for relief effort in this incident and added: “From the beginning hour's of the fire, all municipal personnel, including firefighters, sweepers and sanitation workers, urban services staff, as well as the necessary machinery and equipment, have been dispatched to Shahid Rajaei Port and are actively engaged in providing services.  

The Mayor of Bandar Abbas also appreciated the critical role of sanitation workers in managing the crisis.

He remarked: “Our dear sanitation workers, as always, have displayed a high sense of responsibility and exemplary dedication.

Alongside firefighters and other rescue teams, they have contributed significantly by cleaning pathways and facilitating movement, playing an effective role in ceasing the fire. I sincerely thank them for their constant efforts.” 

It is worth mentioning that the massive fire at Shahid Rajaei Port started yesterday and is being brought under control through the relentless efforts of firefighters and emergency responders. The cause of the incident and the extent of the damages are currently under investigation.
