The opening ceremony of the People"s Republic of China Consulate in Bandar Abbas was held in Hormoz Hotel on Yalda night National Eve with the presence of “Chang Hua”, the Ambassador of the People"s Republic of China to Iran, Alireza Mahmoudi, the head of the Consulate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other national and provincial officials.

According to the report of Communication and International affairs Department of Bandar Abbas Municipality, Adel Shahrazad, the Deputy of Hormozgan Governor in economic affairs, while congratulating the opening of the Consulate of China in Bandar Abbas, called it the beginning of strengthening the mutual cooperation of the two countries in the scientific, cultural, commercial and exhibition fields, along with the activities of Diplomacy of embassies and considered it in line with the country"s priorities to strengthen all-round cooperation with friendly countries such as the People"s Republic of China and declared its readiness for more communication and applying of the mentioned ideas and initiatives.

Chang Hua, the ambassador of the People"s Republic of China to Iran, referring to the ancient diplomatic relationships between Iran and China for the exchange of goods, said: Today, many Chinese citizens travel to the south of Iran for tourism purposes, so the opening of the consulate can lead to understanding and friendship, more investment, setting up businesses and develop the local economy according to the many potentials and blessing of the region. Referring to the "One Belt, One Road" project, he considered the opening of the consulate as the beginning of further cooperation between Iran and China and mentioned it as a prominent point in China-Iran relations and then officially announced the opening of the consulate in Bandar Abbas city.

According to the agreement between the two countries, the area of responsibility of the Consulate of China in Bandar Abbas was announced to include 8 provinces of Khuzestan, Bushehr, Hormozgan, Sistan and Baluchistan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Fars, Kerman and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari.

It should be noted that Abdul-Hossein Arjmand, the deputy of BandarAbbas Municipality in transport and traffic and Maryam Pasalar, the head of Communication and International affairs Department of the municipality, were also present at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as representatives of Bandar Abbas municipality.
